BORDEAUX SHORE EXCURSIONS

The city of Bordeaux has two berths dedicated to Cruise ships that are located on the River Garonne (Left Bank of the River), within the city of Bordeaux. The cruise ships can be positioned either along the Quai Louis XVIII located near the Modern Art Museum or in the heart of the city facing the Quinconces square on Quai du Maréchal Lyautey. These are certainly the best locations as the historic city center of Bordeaux is within a 10 minute walking distance from where the Cruise ships are located.

LE VERDON PORT OF CALL

Le Verdon is a port of call for Cruise Ships that is located 63 miles north of Bordeaux, on the Atlantic Coast. To reach Bordeaux by car, you will need at least 2 hours as there is only one main road that connects the two areas. If your Cruise Ship docks in Le Verdon your best option for a tour is one that will take you to the Medoc wine producing area. For those of you who would like to head towards Saint Emilion, this will mean a 3 hour drive on both ways making the destination quite far away. Some Cruise ships first dock in Le Verdon, leave some passengers there, and continue their way along the River to arrive in Bordeaux. This allows passengers to tour in the Medoc and then board the ship after the end of the tour in Bordeaux.
